Talking Camera System

|
Camera and Audio working in unison
The business of surveillance is about to undergo a radical shift
as digital cameras become commonplace and integrated voice communication
solves problems fast. People expect to be watched when in the street; with the help
of IP technology, we are now seeing perfect digital images and an instant response in
all public and private places.
And now something new has happened – Alphacom is providing voice to the
control room operator permitting the observer to communicate with those outside
and those outside to communicate back. Welcome to the world
of Talking Cameras.
Talking Cameras: Promote good behaviour, challenge the bad
They correct and warn vandals, loiterers, litterbugs, graffiti artists and
other miscreants, give crooks a talking-to
and can be armed with motion detectors, recorded warnings and linked to the police. Talking Cameras are the
new breed of surveillance cameras and proving a valuable deterrent against crime.
Surveillance is no longer a lonely and passive occupation. With the alphacom
system you can now enjoy the integration
of voice and video to see, ask and respond and in doing so:
Prevent and cure crime by responding fast to incidents
Reduce costs by central remote control of large geographical areas
Reduce stress and panic by guiding and helping individuals in critical situations
Involve people using interactive alarm and information points
Increase the feeling of safety for people and staff – they know they can quickly call for help
Encourage socially acceptable behaviour
Provide a medium for polite but firm customer/public service

Audio– an integral weapon against crime then, now and in the future
In the past, a control room operator could only approach the public via the
general PA solution and only survey
as far as the cable could extend between the camera and the screen. Due to the limit
on the number of zones which could be covered, to reach an individual, inevitably many people were interrupted.
As a result, operators often restricted their announcements, often to evacuation type scenarios only.
With the introduction of IP networking, control rooms can now cover much larger
areas than what was ever financially
possible with private cabling. And in contrast to the past, networks can be
created with any number of cameras
in any location and with the Micro-zone PA solution, a zone can even
comprise just one speaker. With the
possibility of several thousands zones, it is now possible to approach individual
people and give announcements
in local areas.
In the future, we will see intelligent security management integration making it
even easier for a single operator to manage large numbers of cameras, PA zones and guards. For example, a single
operator in view of a large area
will use joystick controlled cameras. By pointing at a person on the monitor
he/she wishes to approach, a PA call
is set up automatically to the nearest speaker position.
Talking Cameras
providing an effective, sociable, natural way to connect
As a provider of critical communications for over 60 years, Zenitel often
refers to the power of audio communication.
Voice is proven here as one hell of a deterrent:
Provides integration to external audio recording systems to allow
operators to approach individuals they see on the screen
CCTV with micro zone IP PA – as many loudspeaker groups
can be made as required
High quality audio targets groups or individuals
Pre-recorded or live messages on the loudspeaker, controlled by control
centre staff
A number of different streets can receive the same message
simultaneously if necessary
Networking solution covers large areas
To complement an existing CCTV solution you will need the
AlphaCom E audio security platform, microphone
PA amplifier units and integration to your control room application.
